The collection documents Savery's involvement with the Parsons Engineering Company, the York Haven and Harpers Ferry Paper companies (1899-1920). Correspondence describes tests and installations of the Parsons system of combustion (smoke reduction in locomotives and stationary engines) on various railroads. The material includes a report of Arthur D. Little on the Parsons system. Records of the Harpers Ferry Paper Company includes minutes, correspondence, and reports to the board of directors (1885-1938). There is also some Thomas Savery correspondence (1885-1903) and biographical material.
